Student Teacher Conference – October 29, 2019:

This event is open to anyone currently student teaching.  Candidates will have a chance to get resume writing and interviewing information, ask questions to current PWCS Teachers and Administrators and have the option to be screened for teaching positions.

Instructional Job Fair – December 7, 2019:

Participants will get the opportunity to interview for teaching positions.

Bus Tours:

Elementary – December 16, 2019. Participants will get the opportunity to learn more about teaching in PWCS and visit four different elementary schools.

Secondary – December 19, 2019. Participants will get the opportunity to learn more about teaching in PWCS and visit two middle and two high schools.

Southwest Virginia Public Education Consortium

 Teacher Employment Fair

When: Wednesday, March 11, 2020, 9 am – 12 pm
Where: Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center
Abingdon, Virginia

Information for Teacher Candidates:

For senior college students who plan to pursue a teaching career or for those who are undecided upon a career path. Approximately nineteen Region 7 Southwest Virginia Public School Systems will be represented at the fair.  Registration will begin at 9 am, and the fair will end at noon.  A light breakfast will be provided at no cost.  Also, attendees will be entered to win door prizes.

Pre-registration is required.  Students should register at .  Copies of resumes and transcripts should be available for each school system to which students plan to apply.

Weather patterns change very quickly which may force us to alter the scheduled date. In the event of inclement weather, changes will be announced via email.
