Teaching Licensure for Undergraduates Prek-12 and Secondary

The Teaching Licensure for undergraduates pre K-12 and secondary is for students pursuing licensure at the preK-12 level in Visual Arts, Foreign Language (French, German, Latin, Spanish), Music, and Theater Arts; and at the secondary level (6-12) in each of the following areas: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, English, Earth Science, History and Social Science, Mathematics, and Physics. Add-on endorsements are offered in Journalism and Algebra I.

The College of Education offers an undergraduate program for students pursuing licensure at the preK-12 level in:

  • Theatre Arts

For those looking to teach at the at the secondary level (6-12) licensure programs are available in the following areas:

How to Apply:

All students interested in the education program on the Fredericksburg campus must attend a Group Information Session.  Here you will find out about the programs and the admission process.  Days and times for the Group Information Sessions are listed below.

  • Tuesday, February 19, 2013

All Group Information Sessions will begin at 5:00 p.m. on each date.  The sessions will meet in Trinkle Hall, Room 204, except for the Wednesday, January 30, 2013, session which will meet at 5:00 p.m. in Trinkle Hall, Room 210.

Only individuals who have been admitted and are enrolled at the University of Mary Washington can apply for admission to a Teacher Education Program.
