Students can be admitted to EDUC 203 or EDUC 204 without these scores but will not be officially admitted into the College of Education, and cannot proceed beyond the first course, until they submit passing scores. Two UMW/COE Scholarships – DEADLINE 8/22/16

We have two significant scholarships due soon. They are open to ONLY  5-year or Post-Baccalaureate students who will be doing their Internship this coming Academic Year 2016-2017. The deadline for applications for both of these scholarships is Monday, August 22 at 10:00 am by email to Dean Nina at nmik@umw.edu   Students who have an interest and are eligible may apply for both scholarships. UKROP FELLOWSHIP: The Ukrop Fellows Initiative provides financial support to initial licensure candidates (Post-baccalaureate and 5th Year Pathway M.Ed. and M.S. programs) who are completing their final year of preparation including their full-time internship semester, and who are committed to developing their teaching careers in the Richmond City Schools.  Each fellowship provides financial support up to $9000 per Fellow for tuition, fees and related expenses to complete their practica and internship in the Richmond City Schools.  Specific school/mentor assignments will be made through the … [Read more...]

Free Learner Space Summer Camp, July 21-22

The College of Education is hosting a free LearnerSpace Summer Camp for children of UMW faculty and staff on July 21 and 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants will learn about the maker’s space, 3D printing, robotics and rockets.
