We have two significant scholarships due soon. They are open to ONLY 5-year or Post-Baccalaureate students who will be doing their Internship this coming Academic Year 2016-2017. The deadline for applications for both of these scholarships is Monday, August 22 at 10:00 am by email to Dean Nina at email@example.com
Students who have an interest and are eligible may apply for both scholarships.
The Ukrop Fellows Initiative provides financial support to initial licensure candidates (Post-baccalaureate and 5th Year Pathway M.Ed. and M.S. programs) who are completing their final year of preparation including their full-time internship semester, and who are committed to developing their teaching careers in the Richmond City Schools. Each fellowship provides financial support up to $9000 per Fellow for tuition, fees and related expenses to complete their practica and internship in the Richmond City Schools. Specific school/mentor assignments will be made through the College of Education’s Office of Clinical Experiences in collaboration with Richmond City Schools Personnel Staff. During 2016-2017 three fellowships will be awarded.
As part of the Ukrop Fellowship, each Fellow is also eligible to receive additional funding to support work the College of Education is doing in the Richmond public schools with makerspaces and makerspace-related activities. Ukrop Fellows will be able to use these funds to create and support activities with their own students in their Internships. Attached to this email is a brief description of some things last year’s Ukrop Fellows used these funds to do in their classrooms.
