homework-helpersHungryBrains! at Hazel Hill (formerly Hazel Hill Homework Club) is seeking fall tutors. This program is an after-school tutoring program for diverse, high-poverty elementary and middle school students at the Hazel Hill Apartments in downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia. The program is owned by the National Housing Trust and tutoring is organized through the College of Education. Tutoring takes place at the Hazel Hill Community Center (100 Princess Anne Street, Fredericksburg, Virginia) Mondays – Thursdays from 4PM-6PM. We are also starting a Friday after-school enrichment program in STEM, math, science, literacy, social studies and other subjects through projects and games.

This is a UMW student-run program. All information session, scheduling and tutoring questions can be directed to: Christine MacKrell, Program Manager, cmackrel@mail.umw.edu. She runs the program.
