  • Have been awarded a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University
  • Have taken and passed the Praxis I Series (Reading, Writing and Mathematics) or have qualifying substitute scores.
  • Print the Program checksheet for the grade level or subject area you wish to teach.
  • Complete the Endorsement checksheet (second page of Program checksheet) using your College/University transcripts to match your courses with the requirements.
  • Attend one of the Endorsement Workshops where an advisor will help you complete the Endorsement Checksheet.
  • Complete the UMW Graduate Application and submit all required documents by the filing date.

The College of Education is currently accepting applications for Student Research Funding. Funds will be allocated based on the clarity and strength of the purposes and rationale for requested funds (Section III). For the 2010-2011 academic year, there is a total of $4000 available to support student research, to be divided equally for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
